Why this hotel is good for multi generational travel

What makes this resort fantastic for a multi generational family trip? Grand Cosmos Resort Ruisui Hualien is located in the picturesque Ruisui township, on a southern-European inspired estate of about 16 acres. It is part of Cosmos Hotels & Resorts (天成飯店集團), and the Tourism Administration rated it 5 stars in 2020 and again in 2023. You can stay in the castle, the mansion, a grand villa, a family villa or a more standard hotel room. Every choice of accommodation has a private in-room hot spring. The hot spring water is Ruisui’s iron-rich “golden soup” (黃金湯), the same water piped into the outdoor pools. A spectacular lobby in the castle greets guests with a 27 meters high ceiling and a Lasvit “Golden Ribbon” chandelier. On the grounds you also get the Golden Water Park, Yaward Spa, Fontaine Cuisine, and PRIME ONE Steak House, so a full day (and more) can be spent inside the resort.

Why is this hotel great for grandparents? The private tub means they can soak in the room instead of a busy public bath. Yaward Spa (悅華莊) is on the 3rd floor of the wellness building, by appointment from 12:00 to 22:00, and staying guests get 20% off a treatment (10% service charge still applies). There is also a sauna on that floor and a 25-meter indoor pool. Breakfast and dinner are on site at Fontaine Cuisine in the castle and PRIME ONE in the mansion, so nobody has to hunt for a restaurant after a long day. Parking is free for guests and a free timed shuttle runs between the castle lobby and Ruisui Station (book at least three days ahead; the ride is about 5 to 8 minutes). Larger mansion rooms and the grand villas give extra space when the group wants to spread out, including villas with a private outdoor pool. There are private KTV rooms which you can book.

Why is this hotel great for grandkids? The family villa rooms come with a spiral slide inside the room plus their own hot-spring tub (up to 4 guests, with room for up to 2 extra children on the published add-on). The Golden Water Park spans across approx 1.8 acres with 108 pools, including a kids zone with a big tipping bucket, slides, a ball pit, and a dry fountain. There is also an indoor water area with a two-story slide and a lazy river. Slide height rules apply: outdoor slide from 120 cm, indoor slide from 100 cm. Castle B1 has Brick Land (building blocks and play structures, socks on, under 12 with an adult) and a free games room. The children’s electric cars are a short supervised session for smaller kids (120 cm and under, 30 kg and under, with an adult). Older kids can try the race track (120 cm and up). Little Travellers Zone, Infinity World, and the safari area are on site too, each with its own hours. Children 0 to 2 stay free as extra guests within the room’s limit. Ages 3 to 12 can be added for a fee that includes breakfast, dinner, and a Golden Water Park ticket. The park is for staying guests, and outdoor pools pause around midday (roughly 8:00–12:00, 13:00–17:30, and 18:00–22:00).
